About the Founder:
Rita McCampbell
I have always been drawn to helping children and families through difficult seasons of life. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 10 years as a Child Life Specialist working in hospitals supporting children and families through medical experiences, including work on a pediatric burn unit. That experience shaped how I understand safety, coping, trauma, and the importance of meeting children where they are.
Since beginning as a therapist in 2010, I have worked with children, teens, young adults, and families through challenges ranging from crisis and trauma to anxiety, grief, family transitions, relationship concerns, and the everyday changes that come with growing up. My experience has included school-based mental health within special education, county mental health crisis work, private practice, clinical leadership, and supervision.
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I believe children and teens do their best work when they feel safe, accepted, and genuinely understood. I also understand the demands placed on parents and caregivers, and I value working collaboratively with families so that everyone feels supported in the process.
Experience That Shaped My Work
My experience has included school-based mental health within special education, county mental health crisis work, private practice, clinical leadership, and supervision. I previously served as a Clinical Manager within a play therapy group practice, where I supported clinicians in their professional growth and clinical development.
